XBMC script for Philips Pronto

Currenlty I’m working on a script to control my XBMC setup with a TSU9600. This is particularly usefull if you don’t want to turn on your TV every time you use XBMC to play some musc. At the moment, following features are implemented:

  • Browsing (and playing of course :-) ) albums by cover art
  • Add/remove songs from playlist
  • Add/view rating per song

Looks good - am waiting eagerly to see it working…I am more into the Movies side though…

Maybe I’ll extend it in the future to support Movies and Pictures. The thing is, for those ‘activities’ you normally have your TV already turned on …

Sure - and I do not envisage anything sent back from XBMC during movie operation. I just need basic control functions for that.

I am having a go at it myself - just the basic stuff. ie play stop, up, down, etc. Not having much luck.

I would not protest too much if you felt like sharing a bit of code - at least the basics. :)

Hi Kristof,
I see you got a pronto and are quite good with prontoscripts. You use MC2XML as well for tv guide so do you have any plans to write something for the pronto to show a tvguide using MC2XML? I’ve posted as well this suggestion on remote central but there wasn’t much reply.

Hi Marco,

I’m planning to write a script for tv guides, but I have no idea when. I still have plenty of work with my XBMC script though…

Hello Kristof,

I have a Pronto TSU9400 and would like to use it with my XBMC media center. Are you using the eventserver, or the HTTP API to accomplish this nice result? For the moment, I can use my pronto for pause, play, stop, moving around in the menus (with TV on), … but everything is one-way. I’d love to know how you implemented the 2-way communication.

Kind regards,
-Stijn-

Hi Kristof

How are things going on the script, still progress, or is the project stopped?

I’m still interested in this script for linking the xbmc. Even so i might help develop the script furter (i’m working on a TSU 9400)

This is brilliant, i would love to have this on my TSU9600, currently im using my iPhone instead but if its similar to the app by http://remote.collect3.com.au/ this would be great!!

Any chance you share your script with us :)

I have the XBMX on my old xbox - and I am going to buy the TSU 9600.

Where can I get this script?

Hi Kristof,

did you get further with your XMBC skript? I own a TSU 9400 and I am searching depply for a solution together with XBMC. Do you think it would be easy to adjust your skript on a TSU 9400?

Kind Regards
Markus

Hi Kristof, are you still developing the xbmc script for the 9600? If so, would you like any collaboration? I recently given up on an RTI T3V and T4 trying to get feedback control so
am about to embark on this project and would love to compare note? Please fire me an
email if you are interested. Cheers, Mike

Hello Kristof,

I’m really interesting by your pronto script for XBMC. I don’t know if you work again on this and I want to know if it’s possible to have access to the source code. I can develop on this and share my development.

PS : I’m a french guy; so, sorry for language’s mistake

Kristof Van HertumMarch 23rd, 2010 at 5:10 pm

All, at the moment I’m too busy with other things, so the script has a lower priority for now. I do plan to finish it, although I have no idea when.

It’ll be available for the TSU9400 first, afterwards other models will follow.

I’m surprised by how many people are interested in it. When things are more or less the way I want them to be, I’ll post a trial version.
